Memorial Day Parade

The City of Broadview Heights is holding its Memorial Day observance on Monday, May 27, 2019. A parade serves as the gathering ceremony for the memorial service which honors our fallen soldiers. It will step off from The Crossings Shopping Center at 9:00 AM on Broadview Road, just north of Route 82. Spectators are invited to join in at the end of the parade and follow it to Broadview Center where there will be a memorial ceremony, veteran’s tribute, and complimentary refreshments. The splash park will be open on Memorial Day from 11AM-8PM and the Recreation Center will be open 5AM-Noon.

Community Garage Sale 

The City of Broadview Heights will be hosting a city-wide garage sale on Saturday, June 8th, 9:00am-5:00pm, rain or shine. Residents who cannot, or do not wish to have the sale at their home may reserve space at the Broadview Heights Community and Recreation Center West parking lot from 9:00am-2:00pm.

Section 1 - Garage Sale at Recreation Center

Fees Include: Publicity in the local papers, website, electronic sign, the mayor’s weekly email, Facebook, and signs at the Broadview Heights Community and Recreation Center. Participants will receive two parking spaces in the parking lot, one to park and one to sell their items (participants must provide their own tables/tents). These spaces will be assigned. No weapons, explosives or alcohol are allowed. All sales are final. Max. 25

Section 2 - Garage Sale at Home. Broadview Heights Residents only

Fees Include: Advertising listed above as well as a Garage Sale Permit. A downloadable listing of garage sale addresses plus a summary of sale items will be posted on the city website and made available at the Broadview Heights Community and Recreation Center front desk.

Nights In The Heights

These outdoor rock concerts will be held Fridays: 6/7, 7/5, 8/2 and 9/6 from 7PM to 10PM. All concerts will take place rain or shine on the Broadview Heights Community and Recreation Center grounds in the pavilion near the football field. There will be plenty of free parking as well as shelter in the event of rain. Food and adult beverages will be available for purchase. Each concert event will have a car “Cruise-In” hosted by Next Level Auto Detailing. There will be a specially designated parking area for the vehicles. Questions about the concerts or sponsorship opportunities may be directed to Kristina Sorensen at City Hall at 440-526-3873. Call Shawn Medina at (440-476-9282) for information about the Cruise-In. The concerts are free and open to the public. Please note, the splash park will be closed on these dates.

Home Days on the Green

Thurs.-Sun., July 11th through July 14th

Carnival rides, games, food, live entertainment, fireworks, beer garden and contests. The Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting Mayor Alai’s 5K & 1-Mile Walk on Sunday 7/14. Day of event registration starts at 7:30am with Community Pancake Breakfast immediately after.

Community Pancake Breakfast  

The Broadview Heights Community Pancake Breakfast will be held in our auxiliary gymnasium from 9AM until 11AM on Sunday, July 14th featuring Chris Cakes of Ohio. The breakfast will feature pancakes, sausage, juice and milk. The cost of the breakfast is $8 per person. World famous Chris Cakes will once again be our Community Pancake Breakfast provider. Chris Cakes have been featured on Food Network and has had the world record for fastest flipper! Chris Cakes has also served four presidents! Join us for a morning of tasty fun as the flippers of Chris Cakes look to entertain and fill your stomach with delicious pancakes.

Tickets available at the door the day of the event. Proceeds will benefit the Broadview Heights Recreation Scholarship fund.

Mayors 5K and 1 Mile Walk

This is a special event for the whole family in conjunction with the Broadview Heights “Home Days on the Green”. Race begins and ends at the Broadview Heights Community and Recreation Center: 9543 Broadview Road, Broadview Heights, OH 44147.  Awards will be given to top overall male & female as well as 5K racers finishing in the top three in each age group. Age groups (male & female): 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60 & over. All 5K participants 10 & under will receive participation medals.

7:30 a.m. - Race-day registration and packet pickup

8:30 a.m. - 5K Run (B-tag chip timing, 3.1 miles) and 1 Mile Walk/Run

Fees:

5K Run: $20 on or before July 7 or $25 on race day

1 Mile Walk: $15 on or before July 7 or $20 on race day.

Family Rate: $18/person for the 5K and $13/person for the 1 Mile

Must be three or more people living at the same address - valid through the mail only. Must be received by Wednesday, July 10th. Mail one entry form per person, together in one envelope.

Cleveland Indians Broadview Heights Night (ticket link available soon)

Looking for an awesome night out at the ballpark?  Look no further! Broadview Heights night with the Cleveland Indians will take place on August 2nd and is a great family event that you can share with other members of the community.  Tickets are sold in the family deck at Progressive Field for $32 per ticket. Get your tickets fast, only 250 will be sold at this price.
