Power Soccer Open House

Sunday, August 18th from 4pm to 6pm

We are looking to create a Power Soccer program specifically for power wheelchair users at the new Broadview Heights Community and Recreation Center!

Interested players who have their own equipment will have the opportunity for open play.  Anyone interested in becoming involved is invited to attend!  We are seeking coaches, officials and participants!  If you are interested, we need to hear from you!  If you cannot attend the open house but would like more information, please email Parks and Recreation Director Paula Horner at phorner@broadiew-heights.org

What is Power Soccer? Power soccer is the first competitive team sport designed and developed specifically for power wheelchair users. Athletes' disabilities include quadriplegia, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, and many others. The game is played in a gymnasium on a regulation basketball court. Two teams of four players attack, defend, and spin-kick a 13-inch soccer ball in a skilled and challenging game similar to able-bodied soccer. The USPSA is the governing body for Power soccer in the United States. Browse the USPSA website for more information on Power Soccer: https://www.powersoccerusa.org/
