Safety Town

The Broadview Heights Safety Town is a ten-day summer educational program that instructs pre-kindergarten-aged children with interactive activities on crossing the street, traffic lights, seat belts, bus safety, the work of police officers and firefighters, bike safety, and more.  We focus on safety skills that will be used on a daily basis in a child’s life.   Using a simulated “mini-town” complete with buildings and roads, the children use tricycles with seat belts to practice and experience a variety of situations so that they may respond decisively when confronted with those same situations in real life.  The serious subject of safety is combined with craft activities, songs, and lots of fun.  They also will work on learning their phone number and home addresses. (Parents should review that information with them before the first class.
