1. When Does Registration Begin and End?

Basketball registration begins in the summer. Participants receive a $20 discount if they are registered by October 15th. Registration will close if an age group fills up or on October 31st.

2. When and where are games and practices?

Practices generally begin in late November and will continue throughout the season taking place during the week at either the Broadview Heights Community and Recreation Center or at local school gyms. For the 1st and 2nd grade teams, beginning in January, practices will be 30 minutes before their scheduled games.

Games begin in December and take place on Saturdays (with the high school aged kids playing on Friday nights) and will run through mid February. 

In general, games are played by age on the following days, however; THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE. 1st and 2nd grade games will be on Saturdays. Boys and Girls 3rd through 7th grade games will also take place Saturdays at the rec center with the younger ages starting at 9:00 AM and games running through 7:00 or 8:00 PM.

Boys 9th /10th grade leagues play Friday nights.

Boys 11th / 12th grade league plays Friday nights.

3. When will I hear from a coach?

Coaches are selected and teams are formed after the registration deadline. I am hoping before Saturday, November 11th, maybe sooner. If we do not have enough coaches in the age group however, it may be later as I won’t release rosters until I have all the coaches. 

4. My child is trying out for a travel or school team. Can he still play on a recreational team?

Players trying out for a travel team or school team must register for the Broadview Heights Recreation league in order to be guaranteed placement on a team in the event they do not make the travel or school team. If a player does make a travel or school team, they will be refunded their registration fee. A refund request form must be filled out promptly. Players may NOT participate on both a school and a recreational team.
