1. When Does Registration Begin and End?

Basketball registration begins June 1st. Participants receive a $20 discount if they are registered by October 20th. Registration will close if an age group fills up or on October 31st.

2. When and where are games and practices?

Practices begin as soon as teams are formed.  We are going to try for the week of November 14th but if we don’t have enough coaches by then it may be later. Since our season is starting earlier, practices will as well. Practices are held at the Broadview Heights Rec on a day and time of the coaches choosing.  Practice will generally be the same day and time each week although there may be exceptions. 

Basketball games are played on Friday's and Saturday's.  The season will likely begin the weekend of December 10th maybe the 3rd . The season ends Mid-February. 

In general, games are played by age on the following days, however; THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

Part of this is new. 1st and 2nd grade games will now be on Saturday's. Boys and Girls 3rd through 7th grade games will also take place Saturday's at the rec center with the younger ages starting at 9:00 AM and games running through 7:00 or 8:00 PM.

Boys 9th /10th grade leagues play Friday nights.

Boys 11th / 12th grade league plays Friday nights.

3. When will I hear from a coach?

Coaches are selected and teams are formed after the registration deadline. I am hoping before Saturday, November 14th, maybe sooner. If we do not have enough coaches in the age group however, it may be later as I won’t release rosters until I have all the coaches. 

4. My child is trying out for a travel or school team. Can he still play on a recreational team?

Players trying out for a travel team or school team must register for the Broadview Heights Recreation league in order to be guaranteed placement on a team in the event they do not make the travel or school team. If a player does make a travel or school team, they will be refunded their registration fee. A refund request form must be filled out promptly. Players may NOT participate on both a school and a recreational team.
