Joe Price Council At Large


The current council term is Joe’s third serving as Broadview Heights Council-at-Large.  Joe and his wife Denise have resided in Broadview Heights since 1995.  Joe’s business management career now spans four decades where he developed a business acumen with nationally recognizes corporations, ultimately transitioning into 25 years of private corporate business ownership.  As a 24-year resident of Broadview Heights, Joe’s passion for community is evident through his dedication to public service, community volunteerism, and community civic leadership.  The same dedication is extended through Joe’s full-time public-employment as Village Administrator for the Village of Grafton in Lorain County.  As a lifelong Cuyahoga County resident, and serving in the role of an elected legislator in Broadview Heights while simultaneously managing the daily administrative responsibilities of a City Manager, Joe has expanded his level of experience, knowledge and understanding of all government operational aspects impacting local municipal administrations and public services while developing collaborative relationships with many Northeast Ohio city managers, mayors, elected officials, and state legislators serving district residents throughout Ohio.      

Joe has often said; “Municipal government is a business, run it like one.”  With a commitment to transparency, accountability, and collaboration, Joe remains steadfastly devoted to be the voice for residence of Broadview Heights who he often refers to as “our neighbors and friends.”

As Councilman-at-Large Joe currently serves on the Council Finance Committee, represents Council monthly at the Board of Zoning Appeal, is Chairperson to the Council Rules Franchise and Ordinance Committee, is Council’s alternate to the Tree Commission, regularly attends bi-monthly Planning Committee meetings.  Past committee service includes Chairman of the Growth, Planning and Zoning Committee (2009-2011). Joe has also served as President of the Broadview Heights Boosters (2008-2009), President of the Broadview Heights Area Kiwanis Club (2009-2010), and President of the Broadview Heights Lions Club (2014-2015).


Current Full-time employment; Village of Grafton Village Administrator. The office of the Village Administrator is one that encompasses all disciplines in municipal administration management.

Joe’s responsibilities include hiring of public employees, employment benefit management, collective bargaining contract negations, Director of Public Works, Director of Utilities including Grafton Power & Light, Grafton Water Distribution, Grafton Waste Treatment Plant operations and designated as the municipal Purchasing Agent.  Joe also manages Grafton’s power purchasing portfolio and represents Grafton’s partnership with American Municipal Power members where he currently serves on six board committees including Legislative, Finance, Solar, Prairie State, AMPT (electric transmission systems), and AFEC for American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP).  AMP is owned and governed by 135 members in nine states including Ohio (84), Pennsylvania (29), Michigan (6), Kentucky (6), Virginia (5), West Virginia (2), Indiana (1), Maryland (1) and one joint action agency in Delaware. By Charter Grafton’s Village Administrator also serves as chief project manager on all public works projects, annual budget development and oversight of an annual municipal budget of 19.4-million-dollars (2018). 

Joe is a member of OEDA (Ohio Economic Development Association) and serves at Grafton’s Economic Development Director.
