Introductory Family Archery

While sitting in the bleachers amazed by how much fun their children are having as they learn to shoot a bow and arrow safely, correctly, and on target, some parents and grandparents have wished they could join the class. Now they can, in our new “Introduction to Family Archery Class,” created and taught by USA Archery Certified Instructor, Robert Schaefer. In this 6-week course, everyone will learn how to shoot the Genesis compound-type bow correctly, with accuracy improving each week. This builds a solid foundation for advancement in any form of archery. Safety is emphasized continuously. The first class, held in a classroom, is MANDATORY. It teaches safety essentials, range protocols, equipment handling, shooting techniques, and more, supported by photos and diagrams presented in ways that both youngsters and adults will understand. The next five weekly shooting classes are held in the

Auxiliary Gym archery range. Ages 7 to adult family members

Youth Archery

The goal of our introductory archery course is to provide students of all ages instruction on how to shoot as safely as possible; as correctly as possible according to well established professional standards; and as accurately as age, physicality and available equipment will allow. Our archery class boosts ability, confidence, respect and discipline…and they are great fun. Classes are taught by Robert Schaefer. He holds USA Archery Level 1 and Level 2 Instructor certifications. In addition to participating in archery for more than 30 years, Robert was a board member and committee chairman for a 21-acre archery park in Huntington New York that serves 500 families. Class meets once per week for 6 weeks in our Auxiliary Gym.  The first session takes place in our meeting room to review safety information.  All equipment will be provided. Maximum 8.
