Broadview Heights Splash Park Open Memorial Day through Labor Day
Admission to the Splash Park is free. Hours of operation will be 10AM to 8PM daily.
Please note that the park may close at the discretion of the Parks & Recreation Department due to special events, maintenance or weather-related issues. Closures will be posted at www.bhrec.org.
The Splash Park was funded in part through a NatureWorks Grant awarded to the City of Broadview Heights by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. The Splash Park is approximately 3,000 square feet and includes many play features. It is located at 9543 Broadview Road on the Broadview Center campus, next to the playground. The area also includes a concession stand, restrooms, pavilion, skate park, and playground. The nearby concession stand will also be open daily. Food items such as hot dogs, pizza, nachos, beverages, candy and snacks will be available for purchase.
The Splash Park Rules and Regulation are posted at the Splash Park and are also available online at: www.bhrec.org. Everyone utilizing the splash park must adhere to the posted rules and regulations or they will be asked to leave the premises. NO LARGE GROUPS OR PARTIES PERMITTED. Lions Club Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 8th
The Hunt will be held on the grounds of Broadview Center on April 8th - Rain or Shine. The Easter Egg Hunt is open to all residents, toddlers to age 10. All kids are encouraged to bring their parents and grandparents with cameras. The hunt is arranged by age group with ample time between each hunt for families with 2 or more children. The Lions will be supplying donuts and refreshments prior to the hunt. The Easter Bunny will arrive by fire truck. The Easter Bunny and friends will be available for hugs and pictures before and after the Hunt. The Egg Hunt begins promptly at 10:00AM and takes about one hour. Memorial Day Parade
Monday, May 29th
The City of Broadview Heights is holding its Memorial Day observance on Monday, May 29, 2017. A parade serves as the gathering ceremony for the memorial service which honors our fallen soldiers. It will step off from The Crossings Shopping Center at 9:00 AM on Broadview Road, just north of Route 82. Spectators are invited to join the end of the parade and follow it to Broadview Center where there will be a memorial ceremony, veteran’s tribute, and complimentary refreshments. The Recreation Center will be free of charge to all residents from 6AM-Noon. Adult swim will take place from 6AM-9AM and open swim for all will run 9AM-11:30AM. The splash park will be open on Memorial Day.

Community Garage Sale
Saturday, June 10th
The City of Broadview Heights will be hosting a city-wide garage sale on Saturday, June 10, 2017, 9:00am-5:00pm, rain or shine. Those who cannot, or do not wish to have the sale at their home may reserve space at the Broadview Center West parking lot from 9:00am-1:00pm.
Section 1 - Garage Sale at Recreation Center
Fees Include: Publicity in the local papers, website, electronic sign, the mayor’s weekly email, Facebook, and signs at Broadview Center. Participants will receive two parking spaces in the parking lot, one to park and one to sell their items (participants must provide their own tables/tents). These spaces will be assigned. No weapons, explosives or alcohol are allowed. All sales are final. Min. 5, Max. 32
Section 2 - Garage Sale at Home
Fees Include: Advertising listed above as well as a Garage Sale Permit. A downloadable listing of garage sale addresses plus a summary of sale items will be posted on the city website and made available at the front desk.

Summer Band Concert and Ice Cream Social

Nights on the Heights
These outdoor rock concerts will be held Fridays; June 23rd, July 21st and August 11th from 7PM to 10PM. All concerts will take place rain or shine on the Broadview Center grounds in the pavilion near the football field. There will be plenty of free parking as well as shelter in the event of rain. Food and adult beverages will be available for purchase. Each concert event will have a car “Cruise-In” hosted by Next Level Auto Detailing. There will be a specially designated parking area for the vehicles. Monies raised from Cruise-In activities will be donated to a pre-designated local charity.

Home Days on the Green

Mayor Alai's 5K and 1 Mile Walk and Community Pancake Breakfast
This is a special event for the whole family in conjunction with the Broadview Heights “Home Days on the Green”. Race begins and ends at the Broadview Heights Recreation Center: 9543 Broadview Road, Broadview Heights, OH 44147. Time:
7:30 a.m. - Race-day registration and packet pickup
8:30 a.m. - 5K Run (B-tag chip timing, 3.1 miles) and 1 Mile Walk/Run
5K Run: $20 on or before July 7 or $25 on race day
1 Mile Walk: $15 on or before July 7 or $20 on race day.
Family Rate: $18/person for the 5K and $13/person for the 1 Mile

Pancake Breakfast Information
The Broadview Heights Community Pancake Breakfast will be held in our
gymnasium the morning of the race from 9AM until 1PM. The breakfast will
feature pancakes, sausage, juice and milk. The cost of the breakfast is $8 per person. All registered race participants receive a free ticket to the breakfast.
Outdoor Movie Night and Camp Out

Pre-Movie activities begin at 7pm, movie begins at dark. Bring your blankets and/or camp chairs and join us for a night under the stars! Concession stand will be open!
Campers must register in advance at the Recreation Center or online by Monday, July 31. Registration for the campout is $15 per family/tent. Campers can begin set up of tents any time after 5pm. We will provide a campfire and breakfast! Restrooms will be available all night. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. No alcoholic beverages permitted on city grounds.
Aquatic Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, March 18th, 2017
Join us for the seventh annual Aquatic Easter Egg Hunt! There will be floating eggs and sinking eggs for the hunters to find. One “magic” egg per age group will earn the hunter a special prize. All participants will receive a goodie bag. You must pre-register for this event by Wednesday, March 15th, 2017.

Home School Swim The Broadview Heights Park & Recreation Department offers open swim time for home schoolers ages 5 and up during the day. This is a great way to get some physical fitness and meet new friends! Swim days take place Thursdays from October through May from 1pm to 2:45 pm from ages 5-12.
