You can now get help from 911 in Cuyahoga County by “Texting”. 

To Send a text to 911 in Cuyahoga County, just put in 911 where you would normally put the phone number for a text message.  After you type in your message, a dispatcher will write back asking for your location.  The dispatcher will also ask if it’s possible for you to call.  If it’s not possible to call, the dispatcher can type responses back to you. 

The county says it hopes citizens text 911 as a last resort.  You should also know texting 911 will take a little longer than texting your friends.  The messages can take up to a minute going back and forth through the dispatching system.  The texts are received through the County CCOMS office and are relayed to the dispatchers in the city where the caller is located.

- Parking is prohibited on any public street or thoroughfare of the City between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.

648.10  MINORS CURFEW - No minor of the age during the hours specified shall loaf, wander, stroll or play in, upon or about any public street, highway, alley, park or other public way or place or ride aimlessly on or about any public street, highway, park or alley in the City in any vehicle.
